Though there is no roseate blushing to lure the novice, the meaty flesh is deep gold, extremely lush and cuts like butter. West Coast Keitts grow up to 2 1/2 pounds - almost the size of a small cantaloupe -and will take awhile to ripen, so don't rush the process. The non-stringy flesh is pure perfection.
