Satsumas are the sweetest of the tangerine varieties, picked when their sugar content is at optimum levels. They are less acidic than other mandarins with easy-peeling zipper skin and little to no seeds. When the stem & leaves are attached they make an extra lovely fruit bowl ornament and you can gauge how fresh they are by the vivid color and overall condition of the leaves and stem.
