Fable's mission is to make food healthier and more sustainable, by making delicious food from mushrooms. Fable is reimagining mushrooms by upcycling shiitake mushroom stems, improving their texture and elevating their natural flavors and nutrients to become a succulent, umami-rich culinary protein. Strictly free from GMO, preservatives and artificial ingredients.
 
Fable’s story began with seeing possibility where others saw waste: transforming discarded mushroom stems into something extraordinary. Around the world, mushrooms are prized for their caps. That’s what farms have long optimized for, while the stems, tougher and more fibrous, are often tossed as waste. For most, they were unusable. For Fable, they became the foundation of something new.
 
 
Through a simple yet ingenious process of drying, rehydrating, shredding, and mixing with natural ingredients, those once-fibrous stems unlock a meaty texture and deep umami flavor.
