Schaller & Weber's Bratwurst is based on a recipe brought to the U.S.A. by Ferdinand Schaller. As an apprentice sausage maker in Bavaria, his charcuterier roots reach back to the 15th-century when this traditional German sausage was first developed. The family recipe Ferdinand created - a mixture of pork and veal in a natural casing - gives Schaller & Weber Bratwurst a uniquely German flavor.Spiced with nutmeg and marjoram, it is mild, but distinctive. Great on the grill, or year-round cooked stovetop. Also beautiful served on a bed of sauerkraut with a drizzle of mustard.
