These petite melons were first developed in Israel and are now grown in several countries throughout the world. The exterior is similar to a cantaloupe, small and round, with straw colored-to-pale orange skin under surface netting. The flesh inside is light green and very sweet. Because Galias are small, they yield delicate half moons when sliced, perfect to serve aside biscotti, sorbet and other desserts.
